One of the most memorable companies we visited during our excursion with Prof. Junge was the Edelman Group, a global leader in the development of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. The Edelmann Group is an international company specializing in the production of high-quality packaging for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and consumer products. The company manufactures cardboard boxes for pharmaceuticals, personal care, and cosmetics. It specializes in creating innovative and functional packaging that meets market demands and consumer needs. The company also pays special attention to packaging safety, functionality, and aesthetics. Edelman strives to combine the aesthetic and technical aspects of packaging, ensuring that it is not only visually appealing but also user-friendly.
Upon arriving at the company, we attended an interesting lecture accompanied by a vibrant presentation. We learned about the packaging production process, which consists of elements such as packaging design, prepress preparation, printing, finishing, die-cutting, gluing, and quality control. During the presentation, we were shown examples of packaging created for well-known brands, highlighting the company’s extensive experience and reputation in the international market. We were then able to observe the production process of cardboard boxes, the scale of which impressed each of us.
It was very interesting to see a demonstration of the process of creating cardboard packaging structures using computer programs. When designing, the company follows the rule: „To create creative packaging, use standard box shapes and improve them.“ Edelman provides high-tech printing, varnishing, film lamination and hot foil stamping. There was also a wide variety of packaging designs developed by the company, each of which is creative and unique.
During the visit, we were able to see the entire production process, from packaging design to the final product. A unique approach to packaging creation, the use of modern software and various finishing methods allow Edelman not only to meet market demands, but also to set new standards in packaging design for famous brands. The company’s specialists, led by Helmut Sieber, demonstrated not only professionalism but also openness, sharing valuable knowledge and experience. We are deeply impressed by the technological processes, modern equipment and attention to detail that make the Edelmann Group a leader in its industry. This tour was not only useful for us, but also inspiring. Thank you for organizing this event and for the opportunity to feel part of the team and the nice pizza dinner!
