Visit to Ukrplastic & NUFT in Kiev

To intensify our cooperation with NUFT (National University of Food Technology) in Kiev/Ukraine we visited our friends from our partner university. First we were visiting Ukrplastic who is producing plastic laminates for first class brand owners (see brands, types of film & packs on pictures). The cast & blown film production & metallisation of BOPP films & laminates could be seen – with up to 11 layers of extrusion. Also a film with good dead-fold properties for twist wrapping. Followed by the flexo and gravur printing lines. All in all a very high manufacturing depth.

The next stop was at the NUFT, where we saw the mechatronics lab and a model of the film making process and some overview boards of the different packaging materials. And who would like to improve his knowledge in Ukraine language and printing techniques can do so on the middle/bottom picture.

On the next two days we were very looked after by our friends for visiting historic sites in Kiev.
